Bruno Fernandes confirms what Manchester United will do in training after Tottenham defeat

Manchester United will look at 'what they did wrong, why they conceded goals and how they can do better' in training this week following a disappointing 2-0 defeat against Tottenham, according to Bruno Fernandes.

United struggled away from home against clubs in the top half of the Premier League last season and that problem on the road continued on Saturday evening as Spurs claimed three points on their home soil.

There were chances in the game for both sides, but United's midfield lacked creativity and the attack was wasteful.

United will next play at the weekend against Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford and that fixture will be a chance to respond.

Fernandes thinks there are lessons to learn from the Tottenham defeat and he reflected on the game to MUTV.

"The plan we had in the first half was good. We had chances from that and as I've said, we created but we have to take them. For me, I have to take my chance and put the team in the lead," Fernandes said.

"Yeah of course it changed the game [Tottenham goal], they get motivation and the side was higher. They get pushed by their fans, but I think we still had chances where we could have scored and we didn't.

"After you concede a second goal, we try to make things happen, but they have quality and good players on the ball. They played a really good game and they were aggressive. In the last 20 minutes, they controlled the game.

"We felt in the game, feeling at any moment we could create something but again, I repeat myself, we have to take them. It's about understanding what we did wrong in this game, why we conceded goals and what we can do better.
