Roman Reigns defeats Brock Lesnar in WWE Universal Championship match at SummerSlam 2022

Roman Reigns maintained his dominant streak over the WWE Universe with an emphatic victory against rival Brock Lesnar to retain his Undisputed Universal Championship title at the historic WWE SummerSlam 2022.

In the headline encounter of the evening, the Last Man Standing match saw Lesnar enter in flamboyant style aboard a tractor, before attempting to displace the WWE ring to disrupt his opponent.

It was Reigns, however, who managed to force the count of his close challenger and retain his undisputed championship. It was also a successful evening for Reigns and The Bloodline, as The Usos retained their undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship following a high-flying victory over The Street Profits.

The Biggest Event of the Summer also saw Bianca Belair hold off Becky Lynch to remain as the Raw Women’s Champion with one eye firmly fixed on Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia in November.

Meanwhile, Liv Morgan successfully defended her SmackDown Women’s Championship against former holder Ronda Rousey as the two faced off for the first time since their Money in the Bank showdown.

Early in the evening, Bobby Lashley left his mark on SummerSlam with a convincing victory over Austin Theory as Lashley retained his US Championships belt. Logan Paul continued his meteoric rise to WWE superstardom as the newcomer earned his revenge over former ally, The Miz, to take his first WWE victory in only his second match inside the iconic WWE ring.

Elsewhere, Pat McAfee swapped the announcers’ table for the ring at SummerSlam to take down Happy Corbin and put an end to their ongoing feud, while Rey and Dominic Mysterio partnered with Edge to take down Finn Bálor and Damian Priest of The Judgment Day in a brutal match-up.
