Woman tries 'rawdogging' trend on 7-hour flight but it left her 'broken'

Unless you’re up to date on your online trends, you’re probably not familiar with the term ‘rawdogging’. Cyann Fielding was taken aback the first time she heard it, but when she found out what it was she decided to give the TikTok trend a go on a flight from London to Canada.

It may sound like a bizarre term, but ‘rawdogging’ essentially means staring into nothingness. The viral trend has seen people, mostly men, endure long flights without any form of entertainment, food, water or conversation - although you can watch the in-flight map.

Cyann thought she’d give it a go on her flight from London Gatwick to Qubec in Canada, especially as she’s a fan of reflection and meditation. Keen to try it, she chose to bend the rules a little, allowing herself to eat, drink and use the toilet if necessary. She also decided that she wouldn't ignore anyone who spoke to her, including the flight attendant confirming her vegetarian meal choice, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Cyann said: "My flight was scheduled for around 1 pm on a Sunday afternoon - not too late that I'd be overly tired, and not too early that my mind would wander to stressful thoughts about whether I had a Canadian plug adapter. It seemed the perfect time to just sit, stare and think."

But it didn’t take long for Cyann to realise that she had made a big mistake. Explaining her instant regret, she said: "Craving my lunch and having noticed that Wonka was one of the films available on my seat-neighbour's screen, I instantly regretted my decision to try out this seemingly ridiculous trend.
