Britney Spears' ex charged with four misdemeanours at her wedding

Jason Alexander, former husband of Britney Spears, has been charged with four misdemeanours after appearing at the star's Los Angeles home while she prepared for her third wedding.

Ventura County Sheriff's Department confirmed that Alexander, 40, had been charged with two counts of misdemeanour battery, one count of misdemeanour vandalism and one count of misdemeanour trespassing. It comes after the department's officers responded to an incident of alleged trespassing at the address which led to Alexander's arrest.

Sergeant Cyrus Zadeh revealed that an 'altercation' occurred with security officers while a number of items were broken. “He was able to find his way onto the property and was confronted by security,” sergeant Zadeh said.

“An altercation occurred with the security officers and that’s where the battery occurred… and during the altercation, an item was broken so that’s where the vandalism comes into play. And by being on private property, the trespass comes into play.”

The incident occurred shortly before the wedding took place while Sergeant Zadeh confirmed that those involved were seeking to prosecute. While Alexander was initially arrested for an out-of-county warrant, he will now face the additional four charges.

He was transported from the scene of the incident to a police station and is expected to transfer to Ventura County jail at a later date. On Thursday, Britney Spears and her 28-year-old fitness trainer partner Sam Asghari shared an intimate wedding ceremony.

Shortly before the incident took place, her former partner Alexander posted an Instagram Live story where he could be seen outside her property, stating
