Man charged with attempted rape after incidents in Manchester city centre

A man has been charged with attempted rape after incidents in Manchester city centre last week.

The incidents happened on Granby Row and Plymouth Grove, police said. Darren Roche, of no fixed abode, has now been charged in relation to them.

The 36-year-old has been charged with committing an offence with intent to commit a sexual offence, sexual assault, and attempted rape. He also been charged with common assault and attempted robbery.

Roche has been remanded into custody. He will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court today (Tuesday).
