British Airways system down: Latest as IT systems outage causes significant delays

British Airways is suffering an IT systems outage at Heathrow Airport, according to reports.

Passengers began sharing their frustration at a systems outage at Heathrow Airport on Wednesday afternoon.

Some passengers are complaining of problems at airports around the world.

Chuckie Lothian said on Twitter: "Been sat on a @British_Airways plane for two hours in Sweden. I want to smash something now tbh."

“Sitting at BA T5 gate currently where all computers are down again this month,” commented twitter user Jessica. “Do not trust Heathrow or BA to take care of your bags overnight if you’d like to see your things again.”

An airline spokesperson told the Independent that staff are "working hard to resolve a technical issue".
