Britain's Got Talent chaos in live semi-final with Bruno Tonioli in voting 'blunder' as fans complain

Britain's Got Talent viewers were left confused as the first live semi-final of the series descended into chaos. Just moments in, host Ant McPartlin accidentally slipped and suffered a hard fall on the stage as he and Declan Donnelly introduced the judges and guests Diversity.

Viewers were also stunned by the sight of new judge Bruno Tonioli exposing his torso in an unbuttoned white shirt, then they clocked that the former Strictly Come Dancing star appeared to make a blunder while choosing who to go through to the final.

Musa Motha and Amy Lou Smith became the first Britain's Got Talent contestants to make it through to next Sunday's grand final. After talented dancer Musa was sent straight through to the final by viewers, so it went down to the judges' vote.

Bruno, Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden were asked to pick between singer Amy Lou and comedy singer-songwriter Abi Carter-Simpson. As the judges struggled to decide, with Bruno and Amanda choosing Amy Lou and Alesha and Simon opting for Abi, it went to the public vote. And it saw the second spot in the final going to Amy Lou.

But fans commented that Bruno had slipped up in getting their names wrong. @JimBlower tweeted: "Bruno pointing at Amy and saying Abi." And @rozlaws said: "Come on Bruno, at least get their names right."
