Brian Flanagan set to take over Kildare footballers
Brian Flanagan is set to take the reins as the new manager of the Kildare footballers on a four-year term.
Flanagan's nomination will be brought forward for ratification at the start of September.
Glenn Ryan stepped away from the post in June after Kildare's Tailteann Cup quarter-final loss to Laois.
The Lilywhites have now turned to Flanagan to revive their fortunes. He steered the county's Under-20s to consecutive Leinster titles in 2022 and 2023, as well as an All-Ireland title in 2023.
He also coached Summerhill to a first Meath senior football title in 10 years last season.
Joining his backroom team is Aidan O'Rourke, who guided Armagh to this year's All-Ireland minor final. Former Kildare stalwarts Damien Hendy and Daryl Flynn are also on the ticket.
