Brentford vs Manchester United LIVE early team news, predicted line up and score predictions

Manchester United take on Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

United were defeated by Brighton on the opening day of the new campaign and Erik ten Hag will be hoping for a response from his side. United lost 2-1 last weekend at Old Trafford and the manner of that performance was particularly disappointing.

Cristiano Ronaldo did not start in that match but he's expected to make Ten Hag's starting line up against Brentford, despite the Dutchman giving nothing away regarding his team selection at his pre-match press conference on Friday.

Ronaldo has enjoyed a full week of training and he's now at full fitness, while the same applies to Raphael Varane, who started on the bench against Brighton. Anthony Martial and Victor Lindelof are the only players in the squad who are unavailable with injury.

United last played Brentford at the Community Stadium in January earlier this year and they won that fixture 3-1.

Erik ten Hag says Cristiano Ronaldo is in contention to start for Manchester United against Brentford on Saturday but Anthony Martial is still out.

Ronaldo came on in the 53rd minute of the 2-1 defeat to Brighton but has been deemed match-fit to line up at Brentford.

Martial is still unavailable with a hamstring injury he sustained in the friendly defeat to Atletico Madrid in Oslo two weeks ago.
