Brentford boss Thomas Frank sends message to Erik ten Hag amid dismal Manchester United form

Brentford manager Thomas Frank is unsure whether now is a good time to face Manchester United following a dismal run of form.

Tuesday's 3-2 Champions League defeat at home to Galatasaray was United's sixth in 10 games across all competition this season, signalling their worst start to a campaign for 39 years. Despite twice taking the lead at Old Trafford through Rasmus Hojlund, the Reds contrived to concede three avoidable goals and face an uphill battle to get out of Group A.

Erik ten Hag's side are in crisis with injuries piling up and poor performances across the board, welcoming Brentford to M16 on Saturday afternoon. Frank acknowledges there may be extra pressure on United to win but knows the challenge ahead of his side in heading to a ground they haven't won at since February 1937.

"The flipside is that they need to bounce back and come flying out to do everything they can to beat us," Frank said. "There will be pressure to beat Brentford but Man United is a massive club, the pressure is there to win every game.

"I don't think it makes a difference that they haven't played that well. I am always in doubt when you meet a team with great form and momentum, whether it's bad or will that run end?

"It's a great club, great team, great manager and fantastic players. A big challenge but we look forward to it and we’ll go there believing we can get something out of it."
