Two forgotten Manchester United players can give Erik ten Hag exactly what he needs

It's no secret that Manchester United have struggled for goals this season.

A huge £72million outlay was approved over the summer to bring in Rasmus Hojlund from Serie A side Atalanta as United boss Erik ten Hag landed the out-and-out centre-forward he desperately lacked last season. However, at just 20 years old, Hojlund is raw and a work in progress.

It's unfair to land too much expectation at his feet just yet, despite his promising early start to life at Old Trafford. Last season's top scorer Marcus Rashford is yet to hit his stride and United have struggled for goals from elsewhere.

The Reds are joint 11th in the Premier League table on just nine goals - level with the likes of Everton and Wolves. While Casemiro is the club's top goalscorer with four goals this season, only one of those has come in the league.

It's not pretty viewing for United fans and it's obvious that players that aren't attackers are going to have to pitch in with some goals at some point. A point Ten Hag made around the same time last year.
