Brentford boss 'excited' about new arrival as Bees move closer to Keane Lewis-Potter deal

Brentford boss Thomas Frank refused to be drawn on the club's bid for Hull City talisman Keane Lewis-Potter. The Tigers and Bees are understood to have broadly agreed terms of a deal that would see the 21-year-old move to the Premier League outfit.

Frank has long been an admirer of Lewis-Potter and saw bids knocked back by the Championship club last summer and again in January under two different ownerships.

Brentford have been working throughout the summer to seal a deal worth in the region of £16m with another £4m expected in add-ons over time, and speaking on his recruitment plans for the new campaign, Frank admitted he was keen to work with his new signings, but stopped short of talking specific names despite a move expected to be finalised in the near future.

“Hopefully sooner rather than later we have a new player or new players who I can speak about and tell in detail how excited I am to work with them, to develop them and push them to the next level, in the way they can improve and help the team," he told the club's YouTube channel.

“There is a lot of hard work going on, a lot of long hours, but we are working hard on it.”

In preparation for the possible departure of the Hull-born England Under-21 international, City have agreed a deal to sign Turkish international winger Dogukan Sinik from Antalyaspor, and they continue to work hard on a deal to bring prolific frontman Óscar Estupiñán. Boss Shota Arveladze also hopes to add further to his attacking ranks ahead of the new season kicking off at the end of this month.

At this stage, it remains unclear whether or not Lewis-Potter will be on the flight to Istanbul on Friday ahead of the start of the Tigers' pre-season tour in Turkiye and then Spain.
