Brendan Rodgers will lead Celtic to 15 POINT league win over Rangers as Alan Stubbs names flaw with Ibrox rebuild

Alan Stubbs doesn’t just think Celtic will win the Premiership title again. He reckons Brendan Rodgers ’ side could clinch Three-in-a-row by as much as 15-POINTS.

That’s how highly he rates the Parkhead squad the new gaffer has inherited from Ange Postecoglou. Stubbs is well aware that Old Firm rivals Rangers have tooled up this summer for a major tilt at the league flag. But as it stands right now, the former Hoops defender is struggling to see how Michael Beale’s men can catch the Treble champions.

In fact, Stubbs even hinted that Rodgers’ priority this season won’t be more domestic success – it’ll be about becoming a credible force in the Champions League. After Postecogou led Celtic to a clean sweep of honours last term, the pressure is on his successor to deliver again in his second spell at the club. But Stubbs, who spent five years at Parkhead as a player, says a settled, experienced group of winners will ensure Rodgers gets his hands on silverware.

And he’s convinced that – after welcoming summer signings that were already targeted by Postecoglou – the new manager will still have a few aces up his sleeve before the end of the transfer window. As he looked ahead to the new league campaign next weekend, Stubbs said: “As we speak right now, before a ball has been kicked, everyone would say Celtic are overwhelming favourites to win the league.

“I expect Rangers to be stronger. They’ve made a lot of signings – one of them, Kieran Dowell, I had at Everton as a young player. And technically, he’s good. But looking at the rest of their signings, Rangers look to have gone down a more physical route.
