Brendan Rodgers tells Celtic stars why he'll NEVER 'fly by the seat of his pants' as he addresses Lazio implosion
Brendan Rodgers insists he's isn't digging deep into a troubled start to the season at Lazio ahead of Celtic hosting the beleaguered Serie A side next week.
The Hoops lost their first Champions League Group E game earlier this month away to Feyenoord but will call upon their famous home atmosphere to try and edge them over the line against Maurizio Sarri's side. They have endured a difficult start to the season, having lost three of their five league matches and tough tests with Torino plus AC Milan at the San Siro await before coming to Glasgow.
That has heaped pressure on Sarri but when asked by Celtic TV if he'd have the analysts digging through the Lazio playbook, Rodgers insisted there isn't much to gather from their stormy start. He said: "When I look at the manager and the squad, what I see is quality. Sometimes results can be that way.
"Especially at the beginning of a season. The manager could be trying something new but what I do know is they have quality. We will relish the game, Champions League games at home is a special place and hopefully when that time comes around we get the performance and result we wish."
Rodgers' men head into the weekend's Premiership clash at Motherwell ahead of the Lazio game, having won 3-0 with 10 men against Livingston on Saturday. The boss was impressed by the control his men had and it avoided one of his pet gripes.
He added: "The mentality shown when we went down to 10 men was really impressive. I always say it is about keeping that calmness but to do that you have to have that stability around your organisation, and the organisation and how they carried that out was so good.
"You watch the game back and you would maybe never know we were down to 10 men. Very importantly,
