Brendan Rodgers reveals he was the angriest he's ever been in his ENTIRE managerial career at half-time during the 3-1 Celtic win over St Johnstone.

It was a turgid first half at McDiarmid Park for the Hoops and they found themselves 1-0 down at the break. A corner was dealt with calamitously and Diallang Jaiyesimi managed to scramble the ball into the net. They didn't start the second 45 well either but Callum McGregor's venomous leveller brought them level.

Matt O'Riley netted another screamer to put them ahead but Jay Turner-Cooke should have levelled with a late header. However, Joe Hart managed to get across and make a crucial save. James Forrest raced up the other end to net the third and seal three points after a tough eight days that involved a draw with Motherwell and suffer a Champions League exit to Lazio. Rodgers cut an angry figure post-match as the first-half showing left him fuming.

He told Sky: "It was a really good reaction second half. It was probably the angriest I have ever been at half-time as a manager in my career. The intent, the mentality, too comfortable, we were nowhere near it.

"Second half is what I would expect. Much better energy, tempo to the game, Callum McGregor was absolutely brilliant and sparked the reaction. The second half is what I would expect us to be.

"It's ambition, some players want to be too comfortable and just do enough. And it's not enough at this club, you have to have that mentality, that intensity from that first whistle. But the reaction was really good."
