Brendan Rodgers is Celtic title key as Rangers boss Philippe Clement warned he's FAILED in 'two cracks at him'

Mark Wilson reckons Brendan Rodgers’ Old Firm dominance can be the deciding factor in Celtic coming out on top in the title race.

Sunday’s draw at Ibrox means the Hoops boss has still lost just one of his 16 derbies across two spells as boss - winning 13 of those. Former Celtic defender Wilson has been impressed with Rangers' transformation under Philippe Clement and insists the Belgian looks the real deal. But he reckons Clement failing to get one over his opposite number after two cracks at derby day is telling.

And as the title teeters on a knife edge with the final Old Firm of the league season to be played out at Parkhead, Wilson is confident his old side will make it three-in-a-row. He said: "I'd rather be in Celtic's position at the minute knowing that Rangers have to come here and get a result, and seeing how those games have gone this season. Brendan Rodgers has been an incredibly difficult manager to beat for Rangers and he's had a fair few of them.

"Philippe Clement, Rangers supporters like him and think he's the real deal and he looks the real deal. But he's had two cracks at Rodgers and failed to beat him. And Sunday was a big opportunity.

“So to come here and beat him is a tall order. If it was me, I'd rather be sitting in Celtic's position knowing I've got a home game against Rangers."

Celtic looked to be coasting at half-time in Sunday’s clash with a 2-0 lead and dominance in every area of the park. But Rangers fought back after the break to snatch a point and give themselves the chance to go top against Dundee on Wednesday.
