Brendan Rodgers hails Wolves manager and makes Raul Jimenez comment

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has praised rival manager Bruno Lage for the work he has done at Wolverhampton Wanderers ahead of their Premier League meeting on Sunday (4:30pm).

The Portuguese boss replaced compatriot Nuno Espirito Santo in the summer as largely an unknown quantity, but now Wolves look on course for a top-five finish.

Ahead of facing the in-form Wolves at Molineux, Rodgers admitted to not being "surprised" by their impressive form under Lage.

"I think Bruno has done great since he's come in," Rodgers said. "Obviously he's working with an experienced group of players, players who have done really well in the Premier League, but he's come in and added his bit to them."

Leicester, by contrast, have had a torrid time by their own recent standards and currently sit 11th in the Premier League after two seasons challenging for the top-four themselves.

Lage's men have won four more games (11) than the Foxes (7), while 10 points currently separates the two teams.

Rodgers pointed out that Wolves have more time to prepare for matches while the Foxes are currently competing in the Europa Conference League.

The 49-year-old added: "They've got no European football so they can prepare all week and train and work well, and they have quality players so they've done very, very well.

"They play their system really well, good dangerous players. [Raul] Jimenez is back, who's one of the top strikers in the league, and they've very well organised and he's done really, really well."
