Brendan Rodgers feels Celtic imprint already clear to see as Wolves late leveller 'feels like a loss'

Brendan Rodgers admits it's disappointing to lose a late goal but he can see his side already imposing the masterplan for the season.

The Irishman was back in his homeland as Celtic took on the toughest test of pre-season so far, against Premier League opposition Wolves. It came after a long journey from the Far East as Rodgers named an untested defence that stood firm against the pressure of Julen Lopetegui and co. But it was hitman Kyogo who got the ball rolling in Dublin with a smart finish after some pressing play. A host of changes followed before Joe Hart conceded a late penalty after Matt Doherty went down in the area.

That allowed former Atletico Madrid forward Matheus Cunha the chance to level the game as the Hoops shared the spoils with the Molineux outfit. Rodgers reckons the high press he wants to see from his team as they mount a Champions League and Treble assault is already there to be seen in pre-season. But the 50-year-old is aware that his squad must ramp up the pressure before their opener against Ross County next weekend.

He told Viaplay Sports: "It always feels like a loss whenever you concede late on but the workout was perfect for us, I thought we had some spells of fantastic football and defending well against a good side and good players. It was the perfect type of game that we needed. The game gets a bit broken when you make changes, you lose that fluency and rhythm in the game.

"In the second half we gave the ball away too much so we have to be better in that aspect, but overall we're really pleased. It was a great exercise for us against a good side. It's important for any team of mine to impose and initiate the game as high up as we can, and we've got guys that are willing to work, to run. It
