BREAKING: Streets taped off in Manchester after 'stabbings' - live updates
A large cordon is in place in north Manchester as police respond to a serious incident. It's understood two people have been injured in a stabbing in Crumpsall.
Part of Crumpsall Lane and St Mary's Hall Road are taped off this morning (November 7). A blue tent has been erected at St Mary's Court.
It's believed police have been in attendance since the early hours of the morning. The incident is being investigated as a possible Section 18 assault (grievous bodily harm), the Manchester Evening News understands.

Further details about the incident are yet to be confirmed. A reporter is on their way to the scene. Greater Manchester Police and North West Ambulance Service have both been approached for comment.

One resident described his surprise at the stabbings taking place in the area.
He said:
"It's a lot more residential, a lot more families moving in, instead of selling them to be flats.
"The demographic is shifting to families. You get low level crime.
"You get break ins, but you don't think you're going to get attacked on the street. But
