Rachael Blackmore suffered a nasty fall in the next race after gaining a huge win in Cheltenham's Champion Hurdle.

After retaining her crown on Honeysuckle in the day one feature, there was no rest whatsoever as the star female jockey was back in action in the Mares' Hurdle.

But it wasn't to be a triumphant repeat for Blackmore as she endured a horror crash during the fifth race of the day.

Blackmore was on board Telmesomethinggirl but took a horror fall much to the despair of the crowd as her horse was on a collision course with fellow runner Indefatigable.

Blackmore, as she looked to avoid any danger, angled her horse to make a late surge at the front., but she was stopped immediately in her tracks after colliding with the fallen horse. The Irish star brutally took two somersaults before crashing to the floor.

There was a moment of concern as both her and fellow jockey Rex Dingle stayed on the ground. However, a short while later, the duo were back on their feet.

And as the duo came down, jt was Nico de Boinville who capitalised at the finish by riding Marie's Rock (18-1) to victory.

It was his second race win on the opening card, after Constitution Hill starred in the opening Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle.
