BREAKING: Police shut main road after serious crash between car and bike - latest updates

A main road in south Manchester has been shut off after a serious crash between a car and a bike.

Palatine Road is currently closed off both ways. It is shut between Northenden and Didsbury.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said officers were called to the scene of a crash between a car and a cyclist at around 10.15am this morning. A cordon is in place.

Traffic is being diverted away from the area. Some buses also have diversions in place.
