BREAKING: Police officer injured after patrol car responding to crash smashes into other vehicle 'doing a three-point turn' in road

A police officer was left injured after a patrol car responding to a four-car crash then smashed into another vehicle 'doing a three point turn' in the road, the Manchester Evening News understands.

The cop car and another vehicle were left badly damaged after the crash along Wilbraham Road in Chorlton at around 5.30pm on Wednesday night (January 3). Residents living nearby reported hearing 'a bang' before more emergency services arrived at the scene.

It is understood that police were responding to a different collision, thought to have involved four vehicles, at the junction between Wilbraham Road and St Werburgh's Road when they crashed into a different vehicle that was attempting to turn around due to the building traffic in the area.
