BREAKING: Huge police cordon erected as forensic experts investigate - latest updates from crime scene

A police scene is in place following an incident in east Manchester.

Cops and paramedics have been scrambled to Sandywell Street in Openshaw.

Witnesses have reported the air ambulance landing at Sandywell Millennium Green.

The nature of the incident is not yet clear, though there are reports of a large police presence in the area, with police also seen on Welland Street.

The Manchester Evening News has contacted Greater Manchester Police and the North West Ambulance Service for more information.

Images taken at the scene show a large police cordon. Forensic experts in white suits have been seen trawling the street for evidence.
