BREAKING: Former Man United boss Ralf Rangnick remains in hospital as 'further treatment required'
Former Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick reportedly requires treatment on an infection caught during a hospital stay after an injury to his right ankle.
German media reports his extended stay is because of a 'serious' reason. However, Rangnick, who is now the manager of Austria, is still expected to be on the side-lines for their two World Cup qualifying matches in October.
It's understood by German outlet BILD he underwent surgery at the trauma clinic in Murnau, Bavaria. They also claim he has caught a "hospital-acquired germ."
Rangnick is expected to remain in the hospital to undergo treatment on the infection. While he is expected to be well enough to manage Austria during the international break, he will reportedly not be present at their next squad announcement.
