Police cordon off large area of Newport city centre - live updates

A large police cordon is in place in Newport city centre. The cordon is in place at the top end of Cambrian Road in the city centre and a police presence remains at the scene.

A large area outside The Bloc, Blind Tiger, and the former Delilah’s nightclub all enclosed within police tape. The cordon stretches right around the top of Cambrian Road on to High Street and the entrance to the Silurian Hotel. There is also a cordon covering Newport Bridge.

Traffic on Queensway is unaffected. Gwent Police have been contacted for comment.
