Braun Strowman: Monster Among Men set to be top face on SmackDown
Braun Strowman made his return to WWE this week on Monday Night Raw, but his immediate future looks like being on Friday Night SmackDown.
On September 5th edition of Raw, the Monster Among Men became the latest name to make a WWE comeback under the Triple H when Strowman appeared on WWE TV for the first time since his release last year.
Strowman interrupted a tag-team fatal-4-way match, appearing to be in the shape of his life and ran through Raw’s tag team division. Annihilating the Street Profits, Alpha Academy, Los Lotharios and The New Day.
Later in the show Strowman stated that he was heading to SmackDown this Friday night, and it’s move that’s set to be a permanent one – according to Dave Meltzer.
Reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the plan appears to be for the newly returned former Universal Champion to be a lead babyface on the blue brand.
Strowman (Adam Scherr, 39) returned this week on Raw, but will be on Smackdown on 9/9 and is scheduled to be a babyface on the Smackdown brand. It does give them another person they could headline a PPV with against Reigns. Strowman on the Smackdown brand can be the monster on that show, although really categorizing people as Raw or Smackdown, and while they are considered that and listed internally as that, the reality is the stars are frequently on both shows.
Strowman being back notes that he can be a monster based on size without Omos in the picture given Omos is probably nine inches taller. But Omos hasn’t been used of late. Strowman came back lighter and more muscular than in his prior stint with the company.
Brun and Roman Reigns are no strangers to each other, having been fierce rivals during Strowman’s previous run with the company.
