And Giovanni van Bronckhorst may now feel his chances of doing something incredible on the continent are more favourable than overhauling the six-point Premiership deficit.

In terms of team news Van Bronckhorst must find a way to make up for Alfredo Morelos' Thursday night thunder after the Colombian was ruled out for the rest of the season. Kemar Roofe didn't quite inspire in his place on Sunday afternoon.
