Braga chief launches furious Rangers rant as he brands referee 'worst in the Europa League'

Braga chief Antonio Salvador has ripped into referee Francois Letexier - branding him the worst official in the Europa League.

The French official reduced Braga to nine men during their quarter-final defeat at Ibrox on Thursday night and it's left Salvador fuming.

Letexier awarded Rangers a penalty in the first-half and sent off Vitor Tormena in the process before showing to quick-fire yellow cards to Iuri Medeiros in extra-time.

And the Portuguese club's president was furious at the display of the whistler as well as appearing to aim criticism towards his own manager, Carlos Carvalhal.

He raged: "We have seen the worst performance of a referee in the entire competition.

"In the first half, we didn't play as a team, either on the pitch or on the bench.

"We were better in the second half and I have so much praise for the players. They fought and worked until exhaustion. They were still in the tie until the referee took charge.

"I am very proud of the players. We never gave up, but had no luck.

"But we were also up against an excellent team, Rangers, in a fantastic stadium."
