Borussia Dortmund troll Manchester United with Jadon Sancho 'apology' message

Borussia Dortmund have hit back at Jadon Sancho's critics after a strong performance in the Champions League semi-finals on Wednesday night.

The Manchester United forward has been on loan in Germany since January after being frozen out of Erik ten Hag's team last summer. Sancho was dropped for United's 3-1 defeat at Arsenal on September 3 after Ten Hag claimed that the winger had failed to measure up to standards in training leading up to the game.

Sancho went on to claim in a social media post after the game that he was being "made a scapegoat," whilst disputing Ten Hag's claims that he was not training to the standard he required. The 24-year-old was subsequently told that he must apologise to Ten Hag in order to return to the first-team squad following his post.

And after a starring performance against PSG in Europe's elite competition, Sancho's on-loan club have appeared to troll United in a thinly veiled dig at his critics. Sancho has scored three goals and provided two assists across all competitions so far this season.

"You all owe him an apology, we were ALWAYS familiar with his game," the Bundesliga club's official account posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The forward arrived at Old Trafford in 2021 from Dortmund for £72.9million. But the Englishman struggled during his time at the club, scoring just 12 goals in two seasons.

When asked about his future in an interview with CBS Sports after the game, he said: "Who me? I really don't know but I am just focused on impressing right now."
