Booming Jimmy Thelin transfer pledge is Aberdeen FC game changer and connects with Ange's ultimate power play

Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin has confirmed he is already planning ahead for the next two transfer windows - and the Swede's forward-thinking in the market draws comparisons with another foreign manager who went onto enjoy resounding success in the Premiership.

After arriving in the Granite City from Elfsborg in June, the 46-year-old has bolstered his Dons squad with six new faces, with his kitty boosted hugely by the sale of star striker Bojan Miovski to Girona for a club-record fee of £7million. Thelin's Aberdeen have quickly hit the ground running this season and have won all nine of their games so far which has seen them go joint-top of the table with champions Celtic and book a place in the quarter finals of the Premier Sports Cup.

But the classy Swede has admitted he already has his eye on both the January and summer transfer windows next year as he continues to embed his philosophy at Pittodrie. Thelin started his managerial career with Swedish minnows Jönköpings Södra IF, taking them into the top-flight before moving onto Elfsborg in 2018. In his six seasons with the Boras-based club, he came within a whisker of lifting the league title twice, agonisingly missing out on the championship on goal difference to Malmo last year.

With the Swedish season running from April to November each year, Thelin is well versed in dealing with a winter transfer window and using it to improve his already developing squad. The new Reds boss has already shown he has a good eye for talent, with the signing of exciting Finnish winger Topi Keskinen already getting fans off their seats at Pittodrie.
