Bolton Wanderers to face Leeds United's U21s in Papa John's Trophy group stage
The group stage of the Papa John's Trophy took place this morning and Bolton Wanderers learned their final opponents.
We already know that Wanderers will face Crewe Alexandra and Tranmere Rovers in Group B of the Northern section of the draw. At this stage of the competition, it is split into North and South sections.
The competition involves all sides in both League One and League Two. Today's draw will see the final sides in the groups confirmed as a host of Premier League academy sides join in.
Wanderers can face the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Everton, Leeds United, Newcastle United, Wolves and Leciester City's youngsters in the next round. The draw to decide the group stage of the competition took place today
And Wanderers will face the young guns of Leeds when the competition gets under way, as well as taking on Crewe and Tranmere.
