Bolton Wanderers signing's pre-season advantage after January transfer move pinpointed

Kieran Sadlier has vowed to play wherever Ian Evatt needs him to next campaign at Bolton Wanderers and feels he will be in a good place to hit the ground running in pre-season.

The versatile attacker joined Wanderers in the January transfer window from Rotherham United. The 27-year-old made the move from the Millers for an undisclosed fee.

The former West Ham United youth product scored four goals in 18 appearances for Wanderers in the second half of the campaign. He filled a variety of roles for the Whites in that time, lining up across the attack and also as a wing-back.

That versatility proved useful for Evatt to plug gaps when they appeared in his side, knowing he could rely upon Sadlier to do the job he wants. The player himself is happy to play wherever he is needed to.

And having being introduced to the club in January and now settled in, Sadlier is looking forward to pre-season and hitting the ground running, due to not having to familiarise himself with his surroundings and his team mates.

He said: "I will play wherever he (Evatt) wants me to play and try to do the best I can in that position. I have got used to playing as a right wing-back... and I have started to really enjoy it.

"At the start - new system, new lads and the way we play, just getting used to it. But I am used to it now. It is something I enjoy and I can see where I can make the most impact in that position – that is how I look at it.

"I am doing that at the moment but I would like to add more assists as well. But wherever I play next year, I am happy to do that and see what the manager wants.
