Bolton Wanderers player ratings vs Gillingham - Morley, Bodvarsson, Fossey and John good

James Trafford - 7

Manchester City loanee did what he had to do in the first half at Priestfield. Not really troubled by the Gills after the break, especially after

Will Aimson - 7

Came in for the absent Gethin Jones on the right of the back three and looked decent defensively. Solid performance overall and good use of the ball too.

Ricardo Almeida Santos - 8

Skipper was dominant in the air in his own box in helping to clear several long throw-ins. Another great performance at the back from the Wanderers captain with and without the ball.

George Johnston - 7

Coped well at the back up against Vadaine Oliver and made several clearances and interceptions. Got forward well on the left to help Declan John in the final third too.

Marlon Fossey - 8

Grew into the game and teed up Morley for opening goal as well as Bodvarsson's strike. Had more joy in the final third as the game wore on and expressed himself more and more as he caused the Gills problems.

MJ Williams - 7.5

Calming precense in the middle of the park for Bolton and played part in opening goal at Priestfield. Pressed further forward than Morley at times to help out attacks.

Aaron Morley - 8

Great range of passing on show from January signing and stunning strike for opening goal and first one for Wanderers. Kept the visitors ticking throughout the game.

Declan John - 8

Got forward fairly well throughout the encounter and was in the right place to smash home key second goal after the break. Wing-back seems to suit him so much better than full-back in this team.

Dapo Afolayan - 6.5

Played in the number 10 role from the start and had up and down encounter. Didn't have much success in the first half and saw two chances saved in quick succession after break.
