Bolton Wanderers player ratings vs Portsmouth - Kieran Sadlier & Elias Kachunga good
James Trafford - 7
Had little to do in the first half before being beaten by Aiden O'Brien after the break and parrying another effort away shortly after Wanderers went behind. Showed sharpness in the second half when he was called into action more.
Gethin Jones - 7
Moved back into back three on the right and did a fairly solid job in his second game in four days after a month out.
Ricardo Almeida Santos - 7
Skipper had looked solid and dominant in the middle of the back three and kept George Hirst relatively quiet, but did not emerge again after the break.
George Johnston - 7
Solid at the back from the former Wigan Athletic loanee with several decent interceptions throughout the encounter and some decent distribution.
Kieran Sadlier - 7.5
Played as right wing-back and put in some decent looking crosses as times from that position and good penalty kick to get Wanderers back into the game.
Kyle Dempsey - 6.5
Replaced MJ Williams in the middle of the park and some nice passes at times in first half, but deserved booking for late tackle of Marcus Harness. Came off midway through the second half.
Aaron Morley - 6.5
Looked decent on the ball particularly after the game became more stretched and after Williams came on to give the midfield some more balance.
Declan John - 7
Returned from back injury to play left wing-back and put in low ball which led to Kachunga winning the penalty. Perhaps could have helped Johnston out more defensively.
Dapo Afolayan - 7
Played number 10 role again and was denied opening goal by smart Gavin Bazunu stop. Looked the brighter of Bolton's attacking players but taken off with what looked like an injury around 65 minutes.
Jon Dadi Bodvarsson - 6.5
Rewarded with start after goal against Wigan
