Boks too strong for Wallabies, seal bonus-point win in driving Perth rain

The Springboks secured another away win over the Wallabies with a 30-12 success in Perth on Saturday.

It was a scrappy encounter played in driving rain for most parts, but the Springboks did enough to walk away with five vital log points.

The Boks ran in four tries through Aphelele Fassi, Marco van Staden, Malcolm Marx (2) and will be chuffed they that kept the Wallabies try-less throughout.

It was a game littered with errors in wet conditions, but the Boks proved too classy for their hosts. The world champions used their driving maul to great effect as three of their four tries came after powerful lineout drives.

Always tough in Australia, thanks @wallabies and best of luck for the rest of the campaign ??#ForeverGreenForeverGold #Springboks #AUSvRSA pic.twitter.com/oobphvA5i1

It's a second bonus-point win in a row for South Africa, who also beat Australia 33-7 in Brisbane last weekend.

It was by no means a perfect performance, but the Boks will be chuffed with the manner in which they shut out the Wallabies in the second stanza.

The Boks only led 11-9 at half-time and could have trailed had home flyhalf Noah Lolesio not missed a relatively easy penalty attempt on the stroke of half-time.

But the world champions showed their class in the second half as they kept calm to seal the deal in impressive fashion.

The Boks made 10 changes to their starting team for this game and the result will be a major boon for the squad depth being built ahead of the 2027 Rugby World Cup.

SA 30 (11)
