Bogey finish for Leona Maguire as she slips back at Women's Irish Open
A bogey at the last from Leona Maguire leaves her eight shots adrift of the leader Anne van Dam heading into the final round of the KPMG Women's Irish Open at Dromoland Castle.
Six behind at the start of play, Maguire need a good start, and she picked up her first shot of the day on seven. More birdies followed on 11, 15 and 16, but on the par-five 18th, she needed four to get down from 100 yards and finished with a successive 69.
That leaves her on seven-under par, tied for 15th, with Dutch player Van Dam leading on 15-under after she again carded a 66 to add to her opening 69. In second place is Sweden's Lisa Pettersson on 12-under, while Alice Hewson from England and India's Diksha Dagar are a further shot back.
Olivia Mehaffey is next best of the Irish in a share of 30th spot after a 72 leaves her on four- under.
Irish Close champion Sara Byrne and Beth Coulter shot 72 and 69 respectively to lie on two-under, while a 76 from teenager Emma Fleming leaves her five-over.
