Bobby Rae Memorial Trophy played for at Lockerbie Ice Rink

The final of the mixed seniors competition for the Bobby Rae Memorial Trophy, sponsored by Belhaven Brewery was played last week between the rinks of David Carlyle and Marion Murdoch at Lockerbie Ice Rink.

The Carlyle rink started off the better team and scored three shots on the first end, however, the Murdoch rink scored on the next five ends to take a six shots to three lead before eventually winning by eight shots to four.

The winning rink consisted of Marion Murdoch (skip), Jane Hogg, Terry Bishop and Roy Watkinson, with the runners-up being David Carlyle (skip), John Jardine, Margaret Rodger and Marjorie Smith.

Richard Smith on behalf of the ice rink management welcomed everyone to the prize giving and thanked the sponsor for providing funding for the prizes before asking Bob Rae to present the prizes to the finalists.
