Blackpool player ratings vs Barrow AFC as Seasiders passive display deserves a cup exit

Blackpool are out of the Carabao Cup after losing on penalties to Barrow 3-4.

The Seasiders were lacklustre throughout and lacked any real quality or cutting edge. Michael Appleton's side had penalties to decide the game and Shayne Lavery got a second chance after his initially-saved effort had a retake ordered. Solid performance from Maxwell who distributed well tonight and of course made a good penalty save.

Solid enough at right back and got a chance to play in the holding role with Gabriel's return.

Hardly put a foot wrong and distributed the ball into key areas well.

Puts himself about but is erratic at times and sometimes loses possession in important areas as a result.

Solid enough shift from Dougall who distributed the ball well, Blackpool controlling possession made it an easier night for him.

A number of slack passes and no real quality when it mattered.

Slack with possession at times but is keen to get involved in the midfield battle.

Nothing came off for Hamilton, a player void of confidence and ultimately nowhere near the standard required.

Pressing relentlessly as ever but the final quality lacked in his place once again.

Looked to make things
