Blackburn Rovers and Bristol City weighing up moves for Arsenal starlet

Blackburn Rovers and Bristol City are eyeing up a move for Arsenal winger Ryan Alebiosu.

According to Football Insider, Arsenal are willing to listen to offers for the 20-year-old this summer and it is Blackburn and Bristol City that lead the race for his signature.

The wide man, who can play right-back or right-midfield spent the second half of the 2021/22 season on loan at Crewe Alexandra, but an injury disrupted his progress.

In the end, Alebiosu managed just six League One appearances.

Nevertheless, there is talent there for all to see and the 20-year-old has previously been a key part of Arsenal’s youth set up.

In 14 under 23 appearances for the Gunners this season, the youngster scored one goal and registered three assists across the Premier League 2 and EFL Trophy.

Football Insider state that the young right-sided player has regularly trained with Mikel Arteta’s first team since signing professional terms with the Gunners.

He is yet to make his full Arsenal debut, though, but has made the bench on two occasions for the club this season.

Alebiosu was heavily linked with a loan move to Sunderland last summer, but the Black Cats reportedly used their final loan spot on another player, leaving them unable to bring the 20-year-old to the Stadium of Light.

Given his desire to get out on loan this season, Ryan Alebiosu is clearly a player that wants to get out there and play football.

In that sense, it would be a good move to swap Arsenal for a Championship club this summer, where he would stand a much greater chance of regular first team football.

The 20-year-old could be a signing that would fit in well at the two club’s mentioned above, too.
