Birmingham City plan Manchester United talks over Tahith Chong injury return
Birmingham City head coach Lee Bowyer has confirmed that a "conversation" will be held with Manchester United in regards to when Tahith Chong is in a strong enough position to make his comeback from injury.
The talented Dutchman, who joined Birmingham on loan for the duration of the season last July, has been sidelined since late-October after suffering ruptured a thigh tendon that required surgery.
Chong returned to United for treatment and has now completed his rehabilitation programme and recently returned to Birmingham in anticipation of resuming his loan spell at the Championship club.
The winger, who soon became a fans' favourite at St Andrew's for his lightning speed, trickery and ability to create chances in the final third, is now moving closer and closer to making his anticipated return.
Although he is not quite ready to step back into Championship action just yet, the 22-year-old is making progress on the training ground, so much so that the Blues are expecting to hold talks with United soon about when he could make his return.
Bowyer, as quoted by Birmingham Live, said: "He has been training this week with the group, it's lovely to see him out there, getting on the ball, showing us what he can do, bringing his magic.
"But he's got another week yet, training with us and then it's a conversation with Man United as to when we can start introducing minutes to get his match fitness up.
"But it's just nice to see him out there training with us again. He's popular on and off the pitch."
Chong's strong start to life at Birmingham coincided with the club's impressive start to the campaign, where they found themselves fourth in the table after their first six games. However, since Chong's last appearance in a 2-1
