Billionaire's daughter sent haunting text as search for survivors of superyacht sinking continues

A lawyer who survived the sinking of a superyacht off the coast of Sicily messaged her father to say 'there were deaths'. The desperate search for six missing passengers from the Bayesian, which sank on Monday in rough weather, is ongoing.

They include Brit billionaire tech tycoon Mike Lynch and his daughter. Hopes are vanishing anyone is still alive in the bowels of the vessel underwater with each passing hour after it was believed to have been hit by a waterspout in rough seas.

Among the survivors of the tragedy was 36-year-old lawyer Ayla Ronald. Her father revealed she had messaged him to say 'there were deaths', reports the Mirror. He said: "I have texted my daughter and she hasn't given me any updates about missing personnel or saved personnel."

Speaking to the Telegraph, he added: "She has only said to me there are deaths, and she and her partner are alive."

On Tuesday evening specialist cave divers continued exploring the wreckage in the hopes of finding the six remaining passengers who are still missing, including tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch and his 18 year old daughter Hannah. The sunken vessel currently sits fully intact on its starboard side around 165ft underwater on the seabed, however it is possible that survivors may still be trapped inside thanks to air pockets which may have stopped them from drowning.
