"Better player than Mason Mount" - Pundit drops big claim about loaned-out Chelsea star

Crystal Palace loanee Conor Gallagher is a “better player” than Chelsea star Mason Mount, claims former Premier League midfielder Carlton Palmer.

The 22-year-old joined Patrick Vieira’s side on loan from the European champions last summer and has thoroughly impressed at Selhurst Park.

According to the Evening Standard, Thomas Tuchel is planning to keep Gallagher in his Chelsea squad next season.

The Englishman has been a revelation in Palace’s midfield this term, coming up with over 10 goal contributions in over 20 Premier League appearances.

His form has seen him earn a place in the England squad, with the Chelsea academy product winning the man of the match award in the Three Lions’ recent 2-1 win against Switzerland.

Gallagher played alongside Mount on the day, something Chelsea fans could be seeing much more of in the 2022/23 campaign.

While Mount is the more established player, with two full Premier League seasons and 27 England caps under his belt, Palmer thinks Gallagher is actually the better footballer.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT on the Chelsea and England duo, the ex-Leeds United star said: “Mason Mount’s been playing regularly in the Chelsea side. In my honest opinion, I think Conor’s a better player than Mason Mount, and I like Mason. But I think Conor’s a better player than him.”
