Benjamin Sesko could get dream Manchester United shirt number after transfer on one condition

Following a slow start to the summer transfer window, Manchester United are beginning to get their house in order ahead of start of the new Premier League campaign this weekend.

United, who welcome Brighton to Old Trafford on Sunday, have added three new faces to Erik ten Hag's squad, landing Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord, Ajax centre-back Lisandro Martinez and former Brentford attacking-midfielder Christian Eriksen. All three players have strengthened areas that will serve United well moving forward, but other areas need bolstering before the window slams shut on September 1.

United, as everyone knows, remain determined to strengthen their central-midfield options with the signing of Barcelona ace Frenkie de Jong. The Reds have been locked in talks with the Spanish giants since May and remain hopeful of reaching a major breakthrough.

But it is not just in midfield where United need to bolster before the bell; they also need to add to their attacking options. Edinson Cavani left the club at the end of last season, immediately leaving them a striker short, while uncertainty continues to surround Cristiano Ronaldo's future. Anthony Martial is United's only other senior striker available to manager Erik ten Hag.

United, as reported by the Manchester Evening News, have accepted that they are short of firepower at the top end of the pitch and need to add to that area of the team ahead of the window closing. The Reds are understood to be weighing up a move for Red Bull Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko in a bid to solve that problem.
