Ben Heneghan fully focused on Sheffield Wednesday despite Blades past

Sheffield Wednesday new summer signing Ben Heneghan has dismissed talk of his time at rivals Sheffield United in a recent interview. The defender, who signed for the Blades in 2017 but only made one appearance, was asked about his time at Bramall Lane.

He answered: "To be honest I’ve forgotten about that. It’s in the past, it’s gone and my main focus is on Sheffield Wednesday."

Heneghan also commented on his lack of game time whilst at Sheffield United, and how this affected him as a player: "You learn something new at every club, experiencing how to deal with certain things.

"I’ve enjoyed most places I have been, obviously not playing much at Sheffield United but that time’s gone now."

Heneghan's solitary Blades appearance came in 2017/18 in the FA Cup, and remained with the club despite not been given any game time as they were promoted to the Premier League in 2019. This never-say-die attitude will be exactly what the Hillsborough crowd will appreciate if Wednesday are to mount a successful promotion charge this campaign.

Heneghan outlined that: "Hopefully, I can help the team in any way shape or form
