Ben Crooks discusses his Hull KR future with contract set to run out

Ben Crooks has admitted that he has yet to receive a contract offer from Hull KR with his contract expiring at the end of the season. The outside back is in the final months of his deal and is now free to speak to rival clubs about a potential move to the club.

Crooks, 28, is in his fourth year with the Robins and has been a regular for the majority of his time at the club. He was the club's top scorer in 2020 and proven capable of playing in a number of positions during his time at Craven Park.

When asked if contract talks had started, he said: "Not as of yet, it's just a matter of time.

"I've played five games this year due to injury and stuff like that and the good start the boys had kept me out when I did come back in fit and firing. But I've got my chance now and I've got to keep the performances up week in, week out and if I do I'm sure something will come out at the end of it.

"You get a generalised letter that comes on the first of May that the club hasn't made a decision yet. The ball is in my court so to speak with my performances and I don't mind it that way. I have an agent for all the political side of it and talks with Paul (Lakin). My job is to go out there and perform on the field and my agent looks after all the nitty-gritty stuff."

Crooks is clear that his priority is to remain at the club moving forward. "Of course, I love being here," he said. "I haven't been shy around that fact and made it known the last couple of years that I love this club, what they've done for me and my family and for my career.
