Beloved cash and carry party suppliers to close down after 27 years in business

A wholesale business in Bury selling cards and party supplies has announced it will be closing down after 27 years in operation.

Owners behind the Card and Party Store (CAPS), situated on Manchester Road, have said that the business will close its doors this week after going into administration. The cash and carry store will run a closing down sale until Friday (September 22) selling off products.

The store sells party supplies, like plates and cups, alongside decorations, Christmas items, plants and toys. In a post on social media, owners said the decision had been ‘difficult’ to make but thanked customers for their service.

The post said: “Unfortunately after 27 years of being in business we are sadly closing down. It has been a very stressful and upsetting time for us all here at Card And Party Store and it has been a difficult decision to make.

“We just wanted to say that we are so grateful to all our lovely customers who we got to know over the years and who kept us going for so long, we cannot thank you enough. We would also like to say a huge thank you to our amazing staff who have been with us for so many years and who were part of our CAPS family.

“Thank you again to everyone for your support and understanding. We wish you all the best for the future.”

The news was met with disappointment from customers who have used the cash and carry service over the years. Lianne Hooper said: “So sorry to hear this news. Such a lovely family business.”
