It was a very cryptic message from Luongo. The fact is he was offered a new contract at the end of last season. He has had over a month to assess his options. He has not committed to the club and Wednesday have announced that he has rejected a new contract.

Wednesday have moved on and brought in Will Vaulks to bolster their midfield department. Will we get Luongo's side of the story? Hopefully it might come out over the next couple of weeks.

Sheffield Wednesday complete double transfer raid on Rotherham United as Michael Ihiekwe joins

Nothing has progressed with Wilks. Talks are thought to be ongoing between all parties.

It is a complicated deal to get done. Wilks has another year left to run on his Hull deal. Hull will want some money for him and Wednesday haven't paid a transfer fee for a player in a long time, albeit they have not been able to in the last two windows.

Michael Ihiekwe and Michael Smith were announced late last night. I know they are working on one or two other deals in the background.

The club are happy with the transfer business they have done so far but Darren Moore still wants to get more players in the building to freshen things up. Wednesday definitely lack strength in depth in one or two areas.

Wednesday have focused on the free transfers market and tried to bring in players who they genuinely believe will improve the squad and give them a shot at promotion. I expect any loan deals to get done later in the window. I am sure there will be three to four loan players coming in.
