Becky Lynch: Huge rumoured match for WWE SummerSlam

WWE are planning on a big SummerSlam match for Becky Lynch, according to a new report. 

At this past weekend’s Hell in a Cell show, Big Time Becks was unsuccessful in her attempt at regaining the WWE Raw Women’s Championship, as was defeated in the women’s triple-threat match. 

Lynch’s Manhandle slam on Asuka was capitalised on by champion Bianca Belair, who pinned The Empress of Tomorrow and retain her championship, much to the dismay of Becky who looked stunned at ringside as the bell rung.

In was another chapter in the Becky and Belair rivalry, which has become one of WWE’s best current rivalries – and it’s not looking like ending anytime soon. 

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer has hinted that WWE are planning another major match between Becky and the EST of WWE and it could take place at this year’s SummerSlam. 

I would figure that’s SummerSlam [Becky Lynch vs Bianca Belair]. It was very clear that they were holding that match off for a while. I don’t think they’re going to wait for Mania because they don’t have the depth, probably, to wait till Mania. But I figure they’ll wait to SummerSlam for that and that’s why they didn’t do it here.

Meltzer also noted that Becky wasn’t originally meant to be part of the Raw Championship match at Hell in a Cell, and that plans had changed to include the 35-year-old.

Really, they didn’t even want Becky in the match here. It was just one of those things where, and I was a little bit surprised, because I figured, eh, just go with a singles match with Asuka, but for whatever reason, they decided instead to go with a three way.
