BBC The Traitors' Claudia Winkleman says 'it's not down to me' as she spills how traitors are 'picked'
The Traitors is currently in its third week, and as the third season has already featured many twists and turns but the question on everyone's lips is how do they choose the traitors? Host Claudia Winkleman has shared exactly that.
The third series of the hit BBC show sees contestants attempt to identify who among them are “faithfuls” and which are “traitors”, with the traitors plotting to murder the faithfuls, and the faithfuls trying to identify and banish the traitors. The winning finalists have the chance of taking home a chunk of the prize pot that's worth up to £120,000.
However, if a traitor makes it to the end undiscovered, they get to leave with all of the money, leaving the faithfuls left behind without a single penny. In last year's series, Harry was undetected and so left with an impressive £95,000 after convincing fellow contestant and friend Mollie that he was a faithful.
Speaking about the current series, Claudia Winkleman shared that players would have to "rely on their instinct even more" in its finale, adding that trust is "more vital than ever". In the first episode, Claudia shared that a new twist would involve the contestants not revealing whether they are a traitor or a faithful in the finale, and instead its a game purely based on their intuition.
It's been quite an emotional series already, and Claudia admitted that one banishment left her in tears as she "couldn't stand someone leaving". The last player to be banished was faithful Dan as other contestants labelled him as acting "selfish" during the last mission.
