BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Wynne Evans smiles with Katya Jones as he breaks cover after 'unacceptable' remark

Wynne Evans has been snapped in good spirits alongside his Strictly Come Dancing co-star Katya Jones after he was forced to issue a statement after making an 'unnaceptable' remark.

The opera singer, who is known for the Go.Compare insurance advertisements, is currently touring the country as part of the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour 2025 after competing in the BBC One dance contest with Katya last year.

The string of live arena shows, set to take place until February 9, kicked off earlier this month put it wasn't until over the weekend that the Mail on Sunday reported that Wynne was heard making the remark to a woman in a video filmed during the launch event for the show on January 16.

Following the reports, Wynne said in a statement: "My language was inappropriate and unacceptable for which I sincerely apologise." A spokesman for the Strictly live tour and BBC Studios, meanwhile, added: "We were not previously aware of the remark and did not receive any complaints. We have made it very clear to Wynne that we do not tolerate such behaviour on the tour."

Wynne has since been seen with Katya out and about in Liverpool on Monday (January 27) as they take a day off ahead of the next show in the city at the M&S Bank Arena. They were also seen with pro dancer Kai Widdrington, who re-shared a picture of himself, Wynne, Jamie Borthwick and Neil Jones taken as they were rehearsing for the string of live arena shows and posted a red heart emoji on his Instagram Story as the story came out.

It also comes after Wynne missed dancing on the tour in Glasgow on Saturday (January 25) due to an ankle injury and had shared images of his bruised ankle in a Story on Instagram.
